Adjacent to the waters of glacier-carved Jordan Pond rise two mountains, affectionately named the Bubbles. While not nearly as tall as other mountains in Acadia, the unique position of the Bubbles puts you in the heart of the National Park. This Compass & Key itinerary for wandering Acadia highlights an essential hike for first-time visitors, the South Bubble loop. Fuel yourself before and after this iconic hike by visiting a delightful deli and storied craft brewery.
Easily extend this hike with a side trip out-and-back to North Bubble (add one hour), or adding in the loop around Jordan Pond (add 1-2 hours). The carriage road on the western side of Jordan Pond provides lovely views of the Bubbles.
